Funktionelle und molekulare Spezifität der OCaR-Kontrolle der intrazellulären Ca2+-Freisetzung.

OCaR1 and OCaR2, two intracellularly located membrane proteins, have been established as important controllers of NAADP-mediated Ca2+ signaling. However, the Ca2+-source(s) and their specific molecular link(s) to OCaRs are not yet resolved. In our project we will resolve the molecular environment of OCaRs using affinity, proximity and organellar proteomics in cardiomyocytes, pancreatic acinar cells and platelets. This will provide insight into cell-type specificity and mechanisms of OCaR controlled Ca2+ signalling, the physiological impact of which will be functionally investigated at cellular as well as at systemic level.
